The Children’s Museum of Pooler is excited to host field trips! Our field trips are designed to spark the imagination and foster cross-curriculum learning opportunities for children under 10 years of age.

All field trips include a brief orientation to the Museum and two hours of fun in the learning exhibits. Field trips can be scheduled for Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and select Mondays. All field trips require a minimum of 15 students to book at field trip pricing. One chaperone is recommended for every five students.

Field trips dates book quickly, so please reserve early. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold the spot. Please include two possible dates for your visit in case one is already taken.

Self-Guided Field Trip

$7/person
  • Self-Guided field trips are a great opportunity for children to explore the Museum’s learning zones with their chaperones! All field trips require active involvement of the chaperones attending to provide a successful experience.
  • Field Trips typically start at 9:30am and last for two hours of learning through play. Please message us if you would like to request a different time.
  • Available Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and some Mondays (ask us!)
  • $7.00 per student
  • $7.00 per chaperone

Got Milk? A Farm To Table Dairy Lesson

Students will explore the world of dairy farming! Students will follow the production of milk from the farm to the table and have the opportunity to milk our life-sized dairy cow, Bella. Standards Supported: SKL1, S1L1, S2E3

Coasting Through! All About Our Coastal Ecosystem
Students will gain a better understanding of the marine and animal life around the Georgia coastline. The importance and preservation of the salt marsh habitat will be explored through engaging discussion and activities.

STEM Fairy Tale Building Challenge
Students will solve building challenges as they dive into the world of fairy tale literature! Children will love exploring math and engineering through these fun and engaging STEM based activities.

ART-TASTIC Field Trip: Inspiration From Famous Artists
Students will gain an appreciation and understanding of various artists and their unique styles of art. Students will create their own compositions of artwork using techniques such as printmaking and colorblock.

Frequently Asked Questions

 

How many students can the Museum accommodate for a guided field trip?

CMOP can accommodate up to 24 students for a guided field trip in our Museum classroom. If you have more than 24 students, please indicate this on the request form. Larger groups can be divided up and rotated between the lesson and exhibit exploration. 

How many chaperones do we need?

CMOP recommends one chaperone attend for every five students to ensure proper safety and supervision.

Can we eat lunch at the Museum?

Food is not allowed in the exhibit areas of the Museum. There is a Party Room that may be reserved for lunch. Please check with the Museum if the Party Room is available. There are also several benches located just outside of Museum that may be used. 

Do you have restrooms and changing rooms available?

We do not have a public restroom. Tanger Outlets provides restrooms and family restrooms with changing stations across the walkway for visitors.
